Essential Berlin

If you only have a short time in Berlin and want to be sure you catch all the main sites, this is the tour for you. Within a few hours, you get a concise introduction to the city, its history and character. Sites include the Berlin Wall, the Holocaust Memorial, the Brandenburg Gate, Unter Den Linden, Museum Island and more.

Imperial Berlin

Follow in the footsteps of the princes, kings and emperors who ruled Berlin over the centuries, and learn how the city  grew from two medieval villages in the outskirts of Europe to a bustling world capital. Sites include the Nikolai Quarter, Museum Island, Unter Den Linden, Bebelplatz and Gendearmenmarkt.

 Berlin Oppressed

See what remains of the two frightful totalitarian regimes that made Berlin their capital in the 20th century - the Nazis and the communists - and experience the dramatic historical events that took place here. Sites include the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie,  Holocaust Memorial, Site of Hitler’s Bunker and more.

Duration: 3-4 hours

Note: Can be combined with Imperial Berlin to a 5-6 hour tour of the city center.

Behind the Wall

An in-depth journey into communist-era East Berlin, from the international politics and spy plots of the Cold War to the day-to-day challenges of living in a divided city, under a totalitarian government which knows everything.  Sites include the Berlin Wall Memorial, the East Side Gallery, Karl Marx Allee and more.

West Berlin

The western boroughs of Berlin, lately considered somewhat old-fashioned and tame, are a treasure-tome of history - lavish palaces, racy cabaret venues , cold war relics and more - and are set to be back in style in the near future. Sites include Charlottenburg Palace, Ku’damm (Berlin's 5th Avenue) and the site of Kennedy's landmark Berlin speech.

 

Duration: 4-6 hours

Third Reich Berlin

Follow the infamous third Reich from the ideological roots of Nazism, through Hitler’s assumption of power and his grand plans for the capital and up to the regime's ultimate defeat and demise. Includes visits to the sites of Hitler’s Chancellory and Bunker, as well as Goebels’ offices and the memorial to the failed plot to depose Hitler on July 20th, 1944.
